Zoo Days

The plan this morning was to go to the zoo bright and early, today is one of those "zoo days". Everyone's a buck in the door. I wanted to leave the house by 8:30 so that we could drop off "Polo" the new addition for a neuter and front declaw and be to the zoo by 9. Well in the car we go and it's 8:30 (that's right i rock) get thru the light and i forgot a hat for Norah and the free frosty's coupon for wendys(were going after the zoo)get the stuff and were off again. Get Polo to the vet chat a sec.(kids in the car)out the door we go we are still doing great i tell myself. Get to the zoo and just like i knew people are already showing up, i pull in and read the sign "welcome to the zoo, must have ticket to get $1. pricing...........Well last year i brought my ticket and they didn't want it so this year..........yup it's sitting on my counter.........ARGH!!!!!!!!!!! Back out we go, i end up calling Chris and I'm so pissed at myself I'm crying on the phone to him bc if you've ever been to the zoo on "zoo days" if your not early it can get real ugly real quick, everyone in the grand rapids area with children will be there that day it's only a buck a person..... I've calmed down and we are almost home in & out in 2sec. flat. back on the road again........ We finally get to the zoo it's only 9:30......and what fun we had! This year was even better than last year lots more stuff to do. (Although no Big inflatable course like last year and that was the most fun if you ask Isaac) about every 15 ft or so there was another booth for either games, making things, face painting, winning stuff, free stuff, hair coloring,putting for stuff you get my drift well i am only willing to stop at the candy stuff(if there's no line) and the face and hair painting, like i said everyone will be at the zoo by noon and at the moment it's calm quiet and quite nice to see all the animals awake and eating their breakfast so there will be no dillydally with all the booths. We've gone about half way and it's 10:15 Ari is ready to eat, he's not due till 10:45 but what ya gonna do. We take a snack break, granola bar and lemonade while Ari eats then we're off to finish up and see the penguins and the petting zoo. We all had an awesome time and it wasn't that crowded till the end, i had tons of fun and didn't start to loose it with people (not a big fan of people really)till we tried to get down and out, then everyone was just plain rude and in the way but it was ok, we were leaving!@!!!!!! we stopped at the playground for 5min. then off to wendys to get some chix nuggets and our free frosty's then home to eat and nap.(well Norah and Ari at least)
